The art of decorative painting and faux finishes have been used throughout history. For Example: The Pharaoh’s of ancient Egypt used plaster surfaces in their palaces and pyramids, which still exist in a hard and durable state today.  A study of architecture in ancient Greece reveals that plaster was used by the Greeks around 500 BC. the value of using plaster was apparent to those early users. The density of the material, plus its smooth surface, provided both protection and surface which was ideal for decorative treatment.  At “Surface Gems” we offer a variety of decorative plasters; in addition, we offer trompe l’oeil murals and many other Decorative Finishers.
